My husband's doctor says he needs to take a "water pill" in addition to high blood pressure meds to bring down his BP. He has a history of low hemoglobin, heart attack, and type 2 diabetics...I would like to know how many 'MG's" a grown man needs daily. Because of the depletion of potassium, the doctor said to eat a banana or drink orange juice. But how much is enough? Is 1 banana a day, or 1 orange a day "enough".
We eat what we consider a well balanced diet but I cannot find specific information on potassium deficiency.
